Bucket list item completed. Devon and took a special trip to the Big Island to try and witness this awe inspiring event and boy did we luck out with this once in a lifetime experience. There was plenty of waiting and hoping, and a lot of planning. Ultimately the USGS really knows their stuff and forecasted the eruption within days. Twin fountains, max heights of more than 1300 feet, 10 hours actively pushing 15 million cubic yards of lava. More to come on the trip soon, including video and timelapse of the episode 42 eruption.
